Classroom in a Bag® is a nonprofit committed to supporting teachers so they can remain in education and serve students effectively.

Our primary focus is supporting first-year teachers through the Strong Start Cohort, a year-long program designed to provide encouragement, connection, and practical support during the most critical year of a teacher's career.

We believe no teacher should have to navigate that journey alone.

Through meaningful connections, encouragement, practical resources, and community partnerships, we help first-year teachers build the confidence and support system they need to thrive.

Strong Start Cohort

The Strong Start Cohort is a year-long support program designed specifically for first-year teachers. At Classroom in a Bag®, we believe the first year of teaching is one of the most important years of an educator's career, and no teacher should have to navigate it alone.

The transition from college to the classroom can be exciting, rewarding, and overwhelming all at the same time. Through the Strong Start Cohort, teachers become part of a supportive community where they receive encouragement, build meaningful relationships with other first-year educators, and gain access to practical resources throughout the school year.

Rather than trying to serve hundreds of teachers at once, we intentionally invest in a small cohort each year. This allows us to build genuine relationships, provide meaningful support, and create a program where every participant feels valued, connected, and encouraged throughout their first year in the classroom.

Participants in the Strong Start Cohort receive:

A year-long community of fellow first-year teachers
Quarterly cohort meetings
Ongoing encouragement and support
Practical classroom resources and professional learning opportunities
Teacher appreciation experiences throughout the school year
An end-of-year celebration recognizing the completion of their first year of teaching
